Confirmation of OCI application type & some other questions.

Hello there,
My father and myself would like to apply for OCI together based on his own father being Indian, we have all the documents necessary but I'm not really sure about if we should each do an individual application or a family application (not sure if it would change anything but I'm an adult).

I know someone who got their OCI about a year ago and they said that they were at the high commission at 6:30am and stood there till 9:30am but once inside it was all done in less than 30 minutes. Is there a better way to submit in person than standing out in the cold for 3 hours? How does the online appointment system work, does it let you book a time so you don't have to stand in the queue and does it cost anything?

We plan on going to the HCI sometime next week and then'll we'll be leaving the country for 3 weeks, this won't cause any issue will it?

If you are planning to apply in London, then you don't need to queue early anymore. Online appointment is mandatory for submission of OCI applications.

What about the application type that me and my father should submit?

you have to submit separate applications. family application is only for husband , wife and minor children.

When I click on the online appointment link in the OCI page, it says 'Error in the application, please contact admin'.
I've tried this on Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer but keep getting the same message, is anyone else having the same issue?

So over the past month I've been clicking on the link that is on the submission of application section on the HCILondon OCI page but I still have the same error. This has been tried on 3 different computers using multiple browsers (and their respective private modes) in 2 different countries.

ah. such a shame. They have provided erroneous link at the Submission section.

Please use the link as given in the Introduction section

iv) Application for OCI can be deposited either in person or sent by post. For depositing in person an online appointment is necessary which may please be booked using 'online appointment' system by clicking here’
