ILR Success @ Croydon on 20/01/15

Post by shadow_dragon » Mon Jan 26, 2015 12:09 pm

Hello,

I have been a silent reader of this forum from a long time. Thank you all the members of the forum in sharing their experiences and insights which has helped me through the Tier 2 (General) -> Tier 1 (General) & now ILR.

I was at Croydon PEO on the 20/01/2015 for the ILR Application and was successfully granted the same! However I am still awaiting the the Biometric :(

I had the appointment at 8:30 am, got there by 8:10 (just to be safe). I was let in straight away, no queues and I assume I was the 2nd/3rd applicant for the morning; so the entire place looked like it was deserted!!! Following is the journey:

8:12 - I had cleared security and was escorted to Application Verification/Token allocation
8:14 - I had the token allocated
8:17 - SET(o) form, passports, photographs and all my documents was collected/verified (have the documents grouped/filled by sections as per SET(o) form - will help to speed up!) & Biometric allocated. By the time I got up, my token number was being called at Biometric!!!
8:30 - BioMetric Done & I was asked to wait in the waiting area.
9:50 - I got the letter confirming the ILR grant and all the originals returned.

My overall experience was really good and I felt paying extra for the premium service was worth it!

Following is my details:
1. Applicants - 2 (myself & 1 dependent)
2. July 2009 First Entry (Tier 2 General)
3. Switched to Tier 1 General in Feb 2010 & renewal in Feb 2013

- Original University letter confirming the degree was taught in English ( 1 main applicant + 1 dependent )
e. Section 5:

f. Section 6:
- Letter from current employer & Previous employer confirming that I travel for work
- I had attached a summary table + a list of all the travel I had done between Jan 2010 - Jan 2015 ( it was 3 pages long!!)
g. Section 7:
- None
h. Section 9:
- 12 Months Payslips (on company letter head with a company seal + HR Signature)
- 12 Months Bank statments (already attached in Section 5)

i. Section 11A: (cohabitation )
- 1 Council tax bill details with the list of payments in last 12 months
- 8 Quarterly Utility Bills ( Electricity )
- 8 Quarterly Telephone Bills
- 24 Joint Account statements
j. Section 11L ( For the period before you were granted leave as a Tier 1 (General) migrant )

- Letter from Previous Employer (already attached in section 6)
- Payslips for the period before I was granted Tier 1 General i.e. June 2009 to Jan 2010

Congratulations on getting ILR.

Have you written any cover letter with your application, will really appreciate if you can share your format.

@ tier1o: Thank you.
I had given photocopies of all the documentation and UKBA kept the photocopies. I only received all the original documentation.

@ Tier1G09: Thank you.
No I had not written any cover letter. In my opinion cover letter is not necessary at all, just creates additional work for the UKBA case worker (i.e. to read the cover letter).

Quick question regarding your below statement:

j. Section 11L ( For the period before you were granted leave as a Tier 1 (General) migrant )
- Original Work Permit Authorization Letter
- Letter from Previous Employer (already attached in section 6)
- Payslips for the period before I was granted Tier 1 General i.e. June 2009 to Jan 2010
- P60s covering the same period

I am on Tier 1 G for my whole 5 years, do I need to provide any previous document related to my first application grant?

Yes Tier1G09. If you have entered UK with Tier 1 General (Your first Visa on the current stay) then that question does not apply for you.
