After doing some research, it seems from 13th July till September 2014 many of the UK nationality team staff were deployed on clearing the backlog of Passport applications. As a result, the Naturalisation applications processing slowed down in those months. When the Nationality Team Staff were back they obviously had their own backlog due to the staff deployment. They are clearing the new applications as they come, but are slow with old applications. I would advice that everyone who is left and their case is more than six month to complain to home office and get your local MP to chase their applications. 8)

Hi everyone, looking at the June and May applications,
I can see some movement as people are getting approvals. So at least we see brown envelopes start coming again which is a good sign. Keep the faith and hopefully we are next. I just hit the 6 month mark and tomorrow I'm starting to put pressure on them. Applied on the 31st of July.
Good luck everyone!

Four months passed, no news. Pretty annoying when there is not much you can do about it. Keep waiting, you say? I am. But, still, it's not fair that applications that were received months after me got processed and approved while we KEEP WAITING!
Just a quick update on my application. Six months passed last weekend since my application was received. I called HO today. All I was told is that my app is still under consideration and they know no other details. They suggested I should write to the case workers to inquire.

I made request to HO under freedom of information act about July/August applications. And look at the shocking figures they gave me today. They processed only 105 applications out of 4989.

That was as at Sept 30th.... anything they have approved since then is not reflected in the numbers.

Thats what I explained in my earlier post, that they had been slow in processing the naturalisation applications as they were processing passport backlogs between July and September.
I think all should complain home office about the delay in processing naturalisation application if their application has not been processed yet....

In July 2014 they received 7865 applications and processed only 600, so 7265 applications were not processed

people, both July and Sept numbers are AS OF SEPT 30. So any applications processed in Oct-present are not reflected.

EDIT: I dug around the HO website - next release of public info should be 26 Feb, so hopefully we will be able to get more up to date info through FOIs after that date.

I was a July applicant, July 21st to be exact. My approval date was Oct 20th, so it wouldn't show in there.

Hi,

I applied on 30th July so I have also completed 6 months but no response yet.

What are you planning to do to put pressure on them?

I have written to my MP and she responded back saying - I have sent them a letter for update and I do have to allow upto 8 weeks for a response to that letter.

That means can't do anything for another 8 weeks and will have to wait for a response from MP. Fingers crossed.

Good luck everyone.

No I did not have a PR. Maybe that's why it took so long.

Well, basically the same as you did. Calling them and involving the MP. I guess not much we can do.
I called them the other day and they couldn't give me any updates.
Simply told me that ones the decision is made , they will send me a letter... Ridiculous

My MP made some enquiries on my behalf, and the UKVI wrote her back and said:

"The Independent Chief Inspector's report of 11 December 2014 highlighted that some individuals had not been subject to sufficient scrutiny in relation to their immigration history. We have now revised our guidance and are looking at those cases in detail to assess the impact these changes will have on the outcome of the application for British Citizenship. Due to the additional checks required these cases will take a little longer to consider. We apologise for the delay any customers have experienced in receiving their decision."

She said to wait a further 4 weeks and then let her know if I still hadn't heard anything.

Hi,

I have send an email last week asking what is going on with my application, since 6 months had already passed.
Today I got a letter in the post from Home Office asking for ORIGINAL documents confirming my English language skills.

I was rather surprised by this, as I have applies with local checking service at the council, so everything was checked. The lady who was dealing with took copies of all those documents and told me there is no need to send originals anymore.

Well I am sending off my originals in the post today. I hope that means I will be getting an approval soon. I guess they would have mentioned if anything else was missing.
