Right of Retention for Unmarried partner

Hi All

My friend got 5 years EEA residence permit on hte basis of unmarried partner of EEA national.After 4 years ,they are seprate .They got seprate in the start of Feb2015.

Question:-

1- is he eligible to apply under right of retention as he is not married with her?
2- what are the requirements for unmarrie dpartner?
3- The GF refuse to give him any docuemnts regarding treaty rights.
4- Will he get further 2 years or 5 years visa ?
5- What docuemnts he can produce.He has been working for last 4 years

Retention of right does not applies where the partners are not married so cannot be divorced.
