Covering letter
I took along the visa appointment confirmation and email confirming payment of visa fees but this wasn't required.
Hope this helps. I categorised the information above in my covering letter, according to the sections in here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... lement.pdf
I didn't submit any invitation or other letter from me saying that I'd like my wife to be granted a visa; I thought later that I should have, but clearly it is not required.
I think the key is to be organised, to provide sufficient information to prove the relationship is genuine and of course meet the financial requirement criteria.
Good luck - to you and to Mauser1905.
