I applied for eea2 without eea1 and got my rc in 1 month and 5 or 6 days. So apply both together is irrelevant to how much time it takes

Hey everyone! I came to the UK just over 3 months ago and received a visitor visa (3 months), I am Canadian and my husband is Dutch. We got married in Egypt (we met there but we aren't originally from Egypt).

What we included:
  • o Application form (one-sided copy)
    o Photograph of applicant
o Canadian Passport of Applicant (wife)
o Dutch Passport of EEA citizen (husband)
o Original Marriage Certificate in Arabic verified by the Egyptian Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
o Official copy of marriage certificate in English notarised and translated at the [Egyptian] ‘Ministry of Justice’s Translation Office’ and verified by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry
    o Employment Contract
    o Wage slip
here's my timeline so far:
  • I sent of my EEA2 application on a Sat 24/01/2015 (via special delivery)
Home Office received it on 27th Jan 2015
(my visitor visa was due to expire on the 30th)
Home Office sent off the COA on the 2nd of February
received COA on the 6th of feb 2015
requested my passports back on the 6th of Feb 2015
received them on the 10th of feb 2015

Hi
Sorry for replying late. I posted here when I got my rc. I send in application on 10 April and got my rc around 12 may dated 6 may. My wife was self employed doing online business on ebay. No ni contributions were paid but letter from account to pay taxes at end of company financial year was attached. No gas bills no house contract. Just bank statement on our names not joint. But ukba came to our house before marriage . I do everything by myself without any lawyer. I hope it helps and you get your rc soon.

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone can answer my question regarding my eea2 application.

I sent my first application in first week of july 2014 which got refused in first week of sept 2014, then we appeal against the home office deicsion and sent second application aswell in around 15th oct 2014 then we received acknowledgement letter on 15 nov 2014 for second application. In first week of Dec 2014 our appeal was allowed for the first application.

After about a month my lawyer send a letter to home office requesting cancelling the second application and issuing the visa. Home office team visited us about a week ago even though we requested to cancel the application through letter. They said they have come in regards to our second application, apparently they didnt know that decision has come through for the first application and in response to that one of the guys said '' ok then second application is cancelled'' in a questioning way on which I said yeah, then they said they have to complete the form anyway and asked us about 10 to 12 question and left. The whole visit was no longer then 10 to 15 mins.

My questions are

1) is it possible that they dont know that decision has come through?

2)Even though we requested to cancel the second application why they came to visit us and said '' ok then second application is cancelled''?

3) Can they proceed with the second application when we have got the decision and have requested to cancel the application?

4)Can they possibly invite us for an interview and if we dont attend it then what happens?

5) What will be the process of issuing visa, are they going to send the documents and passport back and then request to send the passport back to them so that they can issue the visa or they caseworker of second application will send the passport to visa section and then they will issue the visa and return it?

I will be thankful if one of the experts can answer my questions.

thanks

Still no news about applications made in nov-dec 2014? Seems like they're stuck with October Applicants since January.

Also, a suggestion: can a Moderator change the name of the thread to "EEA2/EEA(FM)/EEA(EFM) application Timelines"? Since they changed the name of the application form last month (the new forms that replace EEA2 are called EEA(FM) and EEA (EFM)), so people can keep posting in this same thread without making a new one.

Cheers

Finally I can share my time line

Application sent: 8.10.2014
Acknowledgement letter received: 15.10.2014 ( dated 10.10.2014)
Confirmation Email with the Case ID: 23.10.2014
Certificate of application: received 27.10.2014 (dated 23.10.2014)
Received passports back: 10.11.2014
RC received 19.02.15 ( dated 06.01.2015)

I dont understand why they didn't send the RC before, if they made the decision on the 6th of January. I called the home office 2 weeks ago, and they said the decision hasn't been made it yet.
