Passport interview - logistical questions

Post by TorontoUK » Wed Feb 18, 2015 1:01 pm

Hi there,

Just have a few questions around the passport interview. I haven't recieved any text about my passport application but I only handed it in on the 13th through Check & Send.

I just wanted to know:

- does the interview letter come by post or email? (Or both)
- is it easy to get an evening (after 630/7) or weekend time slot in London or would one have to wait a long time for that?

Thanks a lot.

Just post.
Not sure about weekend appointment. The last appointment I got was at 5:15PM but that was not in London.

Interview letter (asking you to book) comes by post.
I easily got the weekend appointment for about two weeks in future but this was Crawley passport office just outside london.

The London Victoria office opening hours are as follow (usually) :
Opening times: From 7:45 am to 9:00 pm Monday to Friday and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday
My interview was on a Sunday, so it depends how busy they are I guess.

Thanks CR001. I noticed their opening hours and I was impressed seeing that but not sure if people get appointments so late but let's see.

Still haven't recieved an interview letter (but only submitted the application on the 13th).

For interest sake will write out when I get my appointment.

It shouldn't be too difficult to get an appointment. I called when I got my letter and had my appointment within a few days.

i said I'd write out my passport interview for interest sake. Got the interview letter today and booked it for this coming Saturday (next week). The latest evening times were 430 on Thursday and 515 on Friday.
