So why did you not apply for ILR at that time??August 2008 as a Tier 2 for 5 years

There was never any such visa. If you applied for a student visa before Tier 4 was introduced on 31 March 2009, it was a just a "student visa".hippopotamus wrote:Possibly the visa system was a bit different at that time . My visa was called tier 2 student visa

Yes you can provided you meet all the requirements.for me to apply ILR in 2018 instead because at that time I've lived in the uk for 10 years already.
FLR(M) is 5 years and you need to meet the financial requirement.difference between FLR(M) and FLR (FP)
