What i can and cant do after receiving ILR

Can anyone point me to any good resource on this subject matter.

My understanding is:

I can:
1. work for any employer
2. take up self employment
3. receive benefits

I cant:
1. travel based on my ILR in EU

Can you guys add things on to this list. If this thread gain enough replies, i will collate all the replies in my post for the benefit of the community.

Most imp be careful as for citizen ship you need to have good character, and pay all your taxes if self employment. Citizen ship rules are getting tighter each year.

So, apprarently if you have ILR (but not uk passport) you can travel to:

1. Gibraltar
2. Mexico
3. Romania
4. Turkey
5. Isle of Wight

either, without the need of a visa in advance or
can obtain it upon entering the country.

can someone confirm or deny this based on your direct or indirect experience?

I can confirm that you can definitely travel to the Isle of Wight because it is a part of England and therefore, part of the UK.

Did you mean the Isle of Man? You can travel to the Isle of Man with any UK visa because it is a part of the CTA (Common Travel Area).

Likewise, I can confirm Turkey. I had gone to Turkey on my Tier 1 G visa and got a visa on arrival.

Certainly Gibraltar. Besides it and countries like Montenegro, Macedonia and more, Indians in UK can also travel to about 73 countries without needing a visa or can obtain a visa on arrival.
