In UK, if u are here with more than a 6 month visal. you apply for Permission to Marry POA, therefore there is no need to leave UK.
But, if visa is less than 6 months, u do have to leave the UK and return to home country and apply from outside UK.
We are in this position now - we married in Pakistan, my husband is in PK aplying for spouse visa to come to UK. This does involve being apart for some time which is not easy.
As far as Sweden is concerned, I am not sure of the rules.
Would advise you to contact the Swedish Embassy in your Home Country and ask their advice.
I'm really not sure on this - unfortunately I don't have enough knowledge in this area. Maybe one of the experts on the forum can help you?AlexandraSweden wrote:Thanks for your response, I dont know the similqrities between the immigration laws of both countries and since reading more about the EU directive on Chen ruling, I am wondering if there is some way to use that law to our advantage but I am not sure if it means that we have to go to a different country like Denmark to apply for a permit under the EU/Chen ruling......?topazstar wrote:I know how it works here in Uk but not sure about Sweden.
