Alhamdulillah I just received my 5 years EEA2 residence card today in post. Here is my time line

Application sent on 3rd November 2014
Received by Home Office 4th November 2014
Confirmation Letter received 10th November 2014 (Dated 5th November 2014)
COA(with right to work) received on 26th November 2014(dated 22nd November 2014)
Residence Card Received on 5th March 2015 (dated 26th February 2015)

All the praises and thanks be to Allah. No Home Visit no interview.

- 26/02/2015 Application arrived (according to the registered royal mail)
- 05/03/2015 Letter of Acknolwgement received (with the EU sponsor's name as the applicant...is this usual?!)
- 05/03/2015 Payment taken from account
- 05/03/2015 Email received with case ID

Now waiting for the CoA with right to work

One week since i sent my application to the HO however they did not send me any letter of Acknowledgment, I called them and my application is still non existent on the system. Is this normal? i know its only been a week but... i find it a bit strange when most people here got a letter of acknowledgement in less than a week

Do you have the royal mail reference number? You can track the post , and see if it has been delivered or not. Have you sent it special delivery ? If yes , it should have arrived the next day, f not, 3 working days

It arrived today thank you However on the letter of acknowledgement they put the Eu sponsor's name in place of the non-EU applicant... is this ok?

Hi,

I received by wife's yellow card for self employed but didn't receive my passport and residence card.

Does anyone know why they might have not sent it with my wife's documents?

Timeline:

1st application : July 2014
refused : Sept 2014
Appealed and sent fresh application : sept and Oct 2014
Appeal Allowed : Dec 2014
Rc : 1st week of March (just my wife's yellow card not my residence card)

Hi, we applied 4th October. Still waiting. It is hard, especially when we see others being granted in 2-3 months. I think it also depends on the complexity of each case. What was your status when you applied? My partner is an overstayed, so we think that is the reason for taking so long, maybe they do further research. Fingers crossed to everyone!!!

I applied within my visa. I entered UK on eea1 visa (spouse visa) to join my wife and applied for RC. We got married in India

I think Overstayer's case are taking a bit longer. I applied on after 10th Nov.

Sorry, but there is nothing like overstayers when applying under EU law.

I and my Indian partner have been together for 4 years, living togheter for 3 years almost. there were some problems with his student visa in 2012, so he has been refused and has been overstayed since 2013. Since then we tried another Eea2 application , which has been refused , as we weren't living together for 2 years. Then, when we completed 2 years, August 2014, we started making another application, which we sent in October. Of course, we think his case is taking long because of that. As well, his passport is with Home office , they held it when they refused his visa in 2013. And it has expired as well. We still hope to go through this, as we are a genuine couple, and have explained circumstances and applied , however, applying as an overstayed without passport , will make them suspicious and we understand that. We are patiently waiting !

does overstayer mean your visa expired while u were in the uk? My eea family permit has expired after our first eea2 application got refused. Wondering if this affects me reapplying for the eea2 application (my husband is working on a 5 mnth contract).

- Application received - 14/11/14
- COA dated - 1/12/14 (had to request another letter as the first one got lost in the mail apparently)
- Email confirming receipt of application - 2/12/14

No further updates since then. Hoping to receive it February - March 2015 since people have been receiving their October 2014 applications back in January 2015.
