My Wife's Visa Application

Post by hopeUk » Sun Mar 08, 2015 2:26 pm

Dear All,

My visa is Long Term (Tier2-ICT) valid up to 2018. My wife is about to apply visa from India.

Her passport expires on 15/Aug/2017; based on it, is it advisable to apply visa

'Work - Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa - Short-term Staff Partner, up to 1 year'

or

'Work - Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa - Long-term Staff Partner, up to 3 years'.

Please advise me which option shall i choose so that visa application does not get rejected.

Kind Regards,
hopeUk

The expiry date of the passport is irrelevant for UK visas. She can apply for a visa which matches your duration. Once she gets her passport renewed, her visa will still be valid and she needs to carry both the passports at all times. Check this:

She should apply for 3 years- Dependent visa, her visa validity period will be same as your....valid up to 2018.

In 2017 before her passport expires, she can apply for re-issue ( not Renew) of passport from Indian Embassy in UK ( London or Birmingham or Edinburgh- Based on the location of your residence in UK. She should get her new passport in 1 month....

As of now, don't worry about the expiry date of the passport....
