English Requirement for naturalisation.

Post by cuteprettysweetappealing » Mon Mar 09, 2015 10:18 am

Hi Team,

I got my y ILR last year this year I need to apply for naturalisation and passport. As my degree is taught in English which is proved as per Tire 1 General point calculator. Do I still need to do anything for English language?

Regards

You did not specify when you got your ILR.
Yes. NARIC letter is a must now-a-days. It costs £50 and it keeps you in safe side.
The application for NARIC english assessment is even simpler than before now-a-days. All that you need is apply online and send scanned copy of degree and the "degree taught in english" letter from college. They will send the NARIC assessment letter back to your address. It takes approx 2 weeks.
If you got your ILR after OCT 2013 then there is no need for this. You can simply say you satisfy english language requirement in place for ILR after OCT 2013.

You NEED NARIC letter
So PBS Calculator printout not accepted any more ? :-(
For me it does not make any logic atleast for the THEN TIER 1 Visa holders to prove their English ability. Without which they could/should not be able to get a T1 and survive in this country for 5+ years ... but well as some one here say , no one is forcing you to apply either live with ILR or you can leave the country ...

Hi ,
I got the answer now in AN guidelines. You can submit point calculator from the website. PBS is acceptable. :D

NARIC is no more needed.
