Extremely thankful for reply CR001

Will extremely thankful if you can reconfirm as I will be attaching the following as instructions on page 12 and 13 on the link you have provided

When you have been naturalised or registered as British
1) Two Identical Photos
2) Any other uncancelled passports relating to you.
3) Certificate of Registration.

so no need
1) to send Childs Birth Certificate
2) write grandparents details in section 8

ALso

Certificate of registration and uncancelled foreign passport is returned on the same time as with the passport ( or the keep certificate of registration)

or

They come before the new passport.

Thanks in advance

3) Certificate of Registration.
Yes, correct including the current passport.

so no need
1) to send Childs Birth Certificate
2) write grandparents details in section 8
No, not needed

ALso

Certificate of registration and uncancelled foreign passport is returned on the same time as with the passport ( or the keep certificate of registration) They do not keep anything. You will get all the documents back. They are sent separately and generally before you receive the British Passport.

or

They come before the new passport. Most likely yes.

Today I went in the Post Office to post the form using Check and Send along with the supporting documents but the lady insisted that I need to provide

1) My passport
2) BRP Card

in addition to the
1) Child Foreign passport
2) Registration Certificate
3) Two photos

I told the lady there is no need but she kept on insisting that she needs the documents.

Please can some one suggest what to do now?

Either try another post office or apply by post directly.

Point out the relevant pages in the passport guide booklet (page 12 and 13)

Thanks again CR001.
Yesterday I went to two different PO and staff member were saying a different story and luckily one senior lady was there who understood me after I gave a copy of the guidance.

I have sent

1) 2 Photos of my son
2) Registartion certificate
3) Current Paksitani passport.

In Section 9 I have filled in my details
In Section 10 I have asked my colleague who is also a friend of mine to sign and fill in her work details along with british passport number.

The Post Office charged me
£46.00 Passport fee
£ 9.75 Check and send Fee
£ 3.00 for Secure delivery of documents( that will come signed for)

The staff said the British passport will come in normal mail and but the return documents (Old passport and Registration certificate) will be in signed for delivery.

Hope this helps others who are applying for First child passport.

Thanks once again for this wonderful forum.

Did you get your money's worth? :-)

Wrong - Both passport and documents will be delivered by DX.

Thanks Khurshid,

Looks like Post Office needs to train their staff or just end their passport checking service as instead of giving right information their staff is giving wrong information and adding more confusion.

Once I receive the passport I will officially lodge my complain to the PO authorities.

Thanks again for clarification.

Good luck with the complaint. If people stop using it, they'll either end it or make it better. That is the only time they'll do it. TBH, why would they spend millions on training staff when they make so little profit from it? They'll rather scrap it.

In my case, I received my baby’s passport within a week. However supporting documents arrived after 3 weeks. Hope this helps.
