Inviting Parents to UK

Post by iubus2005 » Thu Mar 12, 2015 10:08 am

Hi,
I am expecting my parents to visit us in UK (I am on Tier 1 General) from India. I am looking for suggestions on the following:
1) Options to buy travel insurance from?
2) I heard from couple people that they may need medical certificate. However, I have not seen that in any official documents. Why would they need medical certificate to come for tourism?

Cheers.

Hi,

1. Travel insurance: I prefer Bajaj Allianz travel insurance (available online). Below 60 year age and above 60 year age has different premium so check.
2. Medical certificate: Not required.

One caveat for any travel insurance is: they do not cover existing medical conditions which means they are not much use but one needs to buy for sake of visa conditions and any emergencies (worth it).

So, if medical is what you looking for parents, look in specific medical insurance.

Thanks t1s2010.
I am just looking for basic medical insurance to cover emergencies. No pre-existing conditions or medical treatment expected as such.

Cheers.
