Hello guys,
Me and my husband
applied for EEA2 on 03/02/2015,
got COA on 11/02/2015

However we did not realised that the new form was available since 30/01/2015. Our lawer did not tell us that. Is the fact that we recieved COA conformation that they have accepted our EEA2 form or can they still refuse our application as it is an old form.

Hey guys,

We applied on December '14 and have just asked to get our passports back as we need to travel.
We got them back within 7 days, and we are wandering if now there's a chance that they'll send us the RC soon? Does anyone have experience with that?

It's just a conspiracy I have in mind - that once they 'dig out' your case from their drawers in order to send you the passports, they might as well have another look and stamp everything needed for this application. Wishful thinking, I know ;)

What do you think?

Yes anyone can request to return passport not a big deal at all, and it doesn't effect your application. Regarding renewing passport you'll need a valid visa plus you can renew your passport in next 6months even if it's expired. So don't panic and relax. Best would be read passport renewing terms and condition online for peace of mind.

Application received on 30 Dec 2014, waiting for RC since then. Still waiting, obviously. Anyone submitted around the same time with me?

We applied on December 18th and still waiting. We asked for our passports back last week and I'm hoping it will get things moving over there!

gilliananneq, so I have found my pair! so lets check in with each other from time to time! By the way, when you asked for passport back, would they treat it as aborting the application? Does the passport belong to the applicant or the EEA partner?

I've been lurking and watching this thread for a while but.. I am also 30 December applicant - US/Sweden unmarried partners. I entered with two Family Permits and received the COA with right to work back in January, but still waiting on the RC.

We requested passports back two weeks ago - took 5 business days to get to us. I was hoping we wouldnt have to do that, but with a somewhat expensive trip back to the US in early May, I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. That and I was tired of not having the option to leave!

Will update as soon as I hear anything, but at the rate they are going it looks like I was right to get the passports back for our trip.

SondraF: Great to know someone who applied on the same day! Yes, I would also update if there are some news. Cheers

It is good to see more people that applied around the same time as us!

They don't cancel the application when they send the passports back, don't worry! They sent us back our 2 passports (mine- EEU passport and my partner- non-EEU).

Good luck, let's hope we won't have to wait much longer!
