Hello guys... will be great to see your responses on my query below.

I will be submitting my ILR 10 years continuous application soon IA!

My query is when is the earliest i can submit my application for ILR.

My entry clearance date was 02/07/2005 but my first visa issue date was 28/05/2005 so basically i arrived UK 5 weeks after the visa was issued.

Please if you could kindly tell me whether i can apply 28 days before the issue date which is 28/05/2005 or should i apply 28 days before the first entry to UK which is 02/07/2005.

Your responses will be greatly appreciated.

hello CHUDHARY,

Many thanks for your response. I am still bit confused as i heard from many people that its 28 days before the issue date of the first visa. i think the applicants can apply 28 before the issue date if you come to UK within 90 days of the first visa issued. If entry clearance was made after 90 days of the first visa issued then ILR application must be submitted 28 days before the entry clearance date.

hope this makes sense.

Based on this:

Q17a - I entered UK 40 days after the date of issue of entry clearance. Are these 40 days counted as absence?

The period between entry clearance being issued and the applicant entering the UK may be counted toward the qualifying period, as long as it does not exceed 90 days. This can occur if the applicant is delayed travelling to the UK. The period of delay will not be counted as an absence if it does not exceed 90 days. If the delay is more than 90 days, none of the period between entry clearance being issued and the applicant entering the UK can be included in the continuous period calculation.

By the grace of almighty Allah I received my Bio Metric Card today after approval & documents.

quick question expiry date has been mentioned on card 12/3/2025 valid for 10 years. It's just me or everyone getting 10 years on card.

My friend told me at heathrow airport asking so many question even though you got Ilr. (true or not)

Best of luck guys

Kind Regards,

Hi,
You should apply 28 days before the first entry to UK which is 02/07/2005. I am in the same situation and asked the forum regarding the dates

I am thrilled to announce to you that i have just signed and received my ilr brp this afternoon. I had a one year gap due to Pankina ruling but I argued that I made every effort to obey the immigration rule and that it was the H O's error that caused the gap. It was a straight forward application and the whole process took 4 months. Please find below my timeline:
Application posted-06 Dec 2014
Acknowledgement rcvd: 12 Dec 2014
Bio invite letter: 20 Dec 2014
Bio enrolled: 29 Dec 2014
Documents returned: 18 March 2015
BRP received: 19 March 2015
If your issue with 10 yr long res. is a gap due to Pankina ruling only you can apply through lawyers if you have several hundreds of pounds to dash but if you were down to zero like me(which was indirectly due to this Pankina issue anyway) you can apply on your own and just point to them that it was their fault. The law is on your side. Best wishes to you all.
Great mate congrats enjoy ur freedom.

Hi All,

I have applied for the ILR on SET(LR) form. I sent an application on Wednesday using royal mail special delivery but caught on halfway due to fog at Newcastle airport. Application delivered to Durham on Friday means today.

Does home office take payment on Saturday or they do not work at all.

Thanks

Hi all,

I have been a silent reader and have found this forum to be extremely helpful. I have recently applied for ILR through SET(LR) and following is my timeline.

Applied: 20-02-2015
Acknowledgement Received: 03-03-2015
Biometric Invitation Received: 13-03-2015
Biometric completed: 16-03-2015
Decision + Documents: waiting
BRP: Waiting

My case, in my opinion was quite straight forward:
4 years as student + 2 years PSW + 1 year PSW Dependant + 4 years HSMP Dependant (Total = Almost 11 years)

Thanks.

Hello guys, many thanks for all your responses.

I just called home office on 0300 123 2241 (ext 5) and they clearly told me that you can apply 28 days before the issue date if the entry clearance was made within 90 days of the issue date.

which also matches the information displayed here:
http://www.immigrationboards.com/indefi ... 79378.html

Q17a - I entered UK 40 days after the date of issue of entry clearance. Are these 40 days counted as absence?

This is for 5 years route (HSMP, Tier1, Tier 2) not 10 years Long Residence

Also this is from SET LR form D2. When did you first enter the UK? This refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at
the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based.

Yes at the time of issue, the card is valid for 10 years. ILR itself does not expire per se, however, should you decide to keep your current nationality and ILR, you should update the photo on the card. 10 years seems to be long enough time to change facial description. However, if you wish and if you are eligible, you may apply for naturalisation and then a British passport. The British passport is valid for 10 years too, :D, and of course you then renew it.

Saying all that, the government reserves the right to revoke the ILR if there are sufficient reasons to do so (i.e. criminal convictions for which an individual is deemed unsafe for the society). There was a decision from the Court of Appeal in 2012 and the decision was upheld at the Supreme court too in 2014 (Fitzroy George v The Secretary of State for the Home Department).

Congrats Saeedrehman, its good to hear that you both got it.

All, I have just created 2 more tabs in the google tracker as Stat 2015 and Chart 2015 to give an overall idea for 2015 applicants waiting times. Hope the author of the sheet dont mind.

If anyone is unhappy with it please let me know I will remove it.

Hello Everyone,

I had my interview video conference today at London Paddington. It was for only 10 mins asked questions about my English test which I took in Pakistan about 11 years back. Finally he said no need to worry you will get reply in 2 to 4 weeks max and then you can carry on doing what you want to do in UK. I hope I get reply soon now InshAllah.

Got luck to all those still waiting. I'll update once i get a response from HO.

Thanks
Ali

Hi,

I have applied for ILR (LR) on 9th of March, received the confirmation letter on 11th. However, I have not received the biometric letter yet, paid by postal order to home office.

Any idea how long it takes to receive the biometric letter as some applicants receive it within 2 weeks time.

thanks.

Hi @K4,
Yes mine was IELTs back 2003 or 04. Who took my interview was very friendly he did say that it's long time before so even if tell anything briefly that's fine. They had some confusion they asked me that in took another English language test in 2013 which I never did. So he said that might be a mistake and it could be someone else. The questions they asked me
1. When did u last took any English language test
2. How did I book it
3. Was it only a test or whether I've done any course
4. How much I paid for the test
5. How many people took the test same test at that time
6. Did I book my test myself or someone booked that for me
7. Why I choose this test
8. How long was the test for
9. What was in the test
10. How much that test cost
11. How did I make that payment
12. Have I done a yogurt English test apart from that
13. What other qualifications I have
14. Where was that test
15. How did I prepare for the test
Few other questions which I don't remember altogether 30 questions.

Did u get any reply from HO you should send them a letter asking them. They should have informed you if they can't decide within six months. Let me know if you wana ask anything else.

Thanks
Ali
