What payment option did you choose? Credit card, UK cheque etc. Also when was payment deducted from your account and when did you recieve the acknowledgement?

The HO will put your application in the processing queue after payment has been deducted. That might partly explain the delay.

Amnesty ? you mean they all got citizenship ?

Checkmate how long did it take for your HSMP application to be processed a year ago ? 2 weeks ?

Okay they now taking 12 week to proces extentions, while it took 2 weeks to process an application last year. So I have to logically conclude that for a HSMP aplication that took 12 weeks (3 months), the extention will take 12 X 12 /2 = 72 weeks = 1.3 years ! So anyone's application who takes 6 months will probably wait 25 x 12/2 = 2.88 years. Okay so by the time you get you HSMP extension you ready to apply for permanent resdidence.

Last thing, how much did each assylum seeker paid for his application ?

Nothing on their website. If the last two operation service level updates are anything to go by, they have slowed down even more than before.

Two theories
A) The urgent queue is very long and has taken over priority
B) They are training some more case workers.

You said you submitted on the 6th Aug to your consultant. Time to ask him what is going on, they are processing 23rd Aug now.

HSMP extension

Post by apa » Sat Nov 20, 2004 11:50 am

I received my passport back today with 3 years extension :D.
My application reached HO on 16Oct2004, payment was taken on 19Oct2004, urgent treatment form faxed on 12Nov2004, passport received on 20NOv 2004.

That was very quick after I sent the urgent treatment application form. I also faxed my flight ticket and a copy of document (not a job offer) for which I needed the passport back urgently.

I wish you all good luck and hope you get ur passports back quickly. 8)

Now that is another big surprise 1 days progress in a week

I think getting a cheap ticket or planning a holiday is the next best thing if you want to get your ppt back...

...but seriously, these guyz keep talking about getting in more staff - do they really do it....

so at the rate of 1 day per week....anyone applying now for FLR will get back there passports just in time for Christmas 2005

HO is clever enough to understand the difference between urgency of cheap £20 ticket to europe and an expensive ticket to the countries in other continents.

If you try to fool them with a cheap flight ticket to Europe, it may delay your application process further.

And flight ticket alone is not enough to process the FLR in 1 week, one needs to send a document supporting your claim. e.g. job offer, medical treatment letter from the hospital, wedding invitation card etc.

They cannot hold the passports of the people for months, that is ridiculous.
One short-term solution could be to increase the permission to stay from 1 year to 1 Y 6M for the people who have received the HSMP so that they do not apply for extension for another 6 months and HO gets the breathing time to finish the current extension applications.

I just heard that if you submit urgent treatment form, they are sending back passport with 6 months extension without assessing your economic activity and you have to do the FLR again after 6 months. Does anyone else know anything on this

what i have heard that they have already recruited the people and shortly they are going to clear the back log, hopefully by xmas

thanks
