VFS Offices closed in India

Dear All,

The VFS offices in india will reamin closed from 28/09/2007 until 03/10/2007 (both days inclusive).
The British High Commission / Deputy commission will also remain closed from 01/10/2007 until 03/10/2007.

Why is 3/10 a holiday, I called and they told me they open on 3/10

This is the latest News..............., the Embasy in chennai will remain closed on 1st oct due to chennai Bundh(closure).

On Friday 21 September, the British High Commission announced the closure of the VFS Visa Application Centres and the Visa Departments at the British High Commission and Deputy High Commissions from Friday 28 September to Wednesday 3 October inclusive.

The closures were to allow for essential technical upgrades and staff training. This work has been completed ahead of schedule.

The VFS Visa Application Centres and the Visa Departments will now open for business as usual on Monday 1 October. They will be closed on Tuesday 2 October for Gandhi Jayanti.

The VFS Visa Application Centres will remain closed on Friday 28 September, except to return passports.

Good news. but how did you get this, did u call them? i suppose the VFS has clearly placed a written notice in front of their office mentioning that til Oct 3rd it wont function.
