EC : Bank Balance

I have a doubt regarding the Bank Balance for EC. In case, I get around 4 lakhs from my friends and maitain in my account while I aplpy for the visa, is it necessary for me to show the proof of where i got the amount from?

Is it necessary or just showing my balance alone is enough?

Its very much required to show the source of funds, Also you cant say that you borrowed it from your friend which might not be acepted. If you have money in your fathers account you can show that with a letter from your father willing to fund you.
