How did you pass the English language test? I can barely understand what you're trying to say...

Unfortunately only speaking and listening skills are required to pass English language requirement for BC.
He could have failed writing part of the test.

Hi All,

I just noticed something which is very similar to my case too. My wife was away in India for her pregnancy during Aug 2009 to 09 April, 2010. Does that mean she need to wait until 9 April, 2015 when she finishes her 5 year stay? She is only 25 days away from country after 09 Apr 2010 to till date.

If she need to wait, does that mean my daughter also has to wait or there is no requirement for my daughter? She entered in UK on 09 Apr, 2010 and also have 25 days away in 5 years.

Which number do you call? I got the number: 0300 123 2253 from one of the NCS and they are not answering but insisting to call back in 48 hours!!

Your wife will have to wait for her 5 years residence requirement before applying as she physically needs to be here in the UK to satisfy that requirement and you can apply after the date you had come back. Its the same with me and my wife as i came back on 30th March and my wife stayed a month longer than me. Also once you have indefinite leave to remain then your daughter becomes eligible to apply for BC straightaway as long as she was born in the UK.

On the positive side you have saved yourself HO fee if you had sent it direct to HO without consulting NCS. As they don't mention this requirement on the form anywhere but only in 'guidance' which is misleading and many people have lost their fee in the past.

Now problem for me is that I'm eligible to apply on 30th March and i can send the for directly to HO to save NCS fee which i lost at first instance due this same procedure not being followed through but dilemma now is form AN has changed yesterday. Im not sure whether to send the old form which is all ready to post out on monday or fill the new form.

Hello caffiene,

If you have checked with HO and they said that we can use any form before April 6th then thats a good news as it will save a lot of people applying next week a lot of hassle.

And it makes sense too so fingers crossed ill be sending mine on monday and hope for the best!

For simple rule of thumb I'd suggest that if you are just starting your application process then use the latest form, otherwise if you think your form will reach HO before 7 April and you have filled in old form already, you can use the old form.

From 6/7 April onwards new fees and the Biometric requirement is coming into effect, that would mean bit more £'s in your budget. By the way.

Really? That's hilarious. Because why would a British Citizen need to read or write English...

It's a shame. In my experience the most deciding factor of whether or not a person will integrate (or is even willing to try) is language skill.

Unfortunately It needs to submit BRP through NCS as well. I was thinking make Travel plans by keeping PP,BRP using NCS.. They always introduce some kind of Pain..Not surprised..Never Mind.. :(

I think they will take photocopy and return BRP to you, just like Passport.

Hi,

Does the old form is still valid or need to use the new one? I have filled the old one and ready to post this evening. Can anyone help/share the update?

Thank you.

If you post it today or tomorrow with Next Day Delivery, it should be fine.

Hi,

Thank you for quick response, another quick question does the letter from Home office stating ILR has been approved is sufficent or BRP is required?

Thank you in advance.

I think you will need to submit BRP. Also, don't forget to submit ID that you used for Life in UK test if its other than Passport or BRP
