Tier 2 ICT - short term staff to Tier 2 General

Dear All,
I am currently on a Tier 2 Intra Company Transfer - Short Term Staff visa
I want to know what options I have if i get a job with another company here in UK
Can I transfer onto the Tier 2 General category to do this? I am assuming this will require my new company to sponsor me a Tier 2 General visa?
Please let me know the options I have got

But is there no option to switch to Tier 2 General even if I was on a Tier 2 ICT long Term?

The Gov.UK website says the following:
You can apply to change (‘switch’) from another visa to a Tier 2 (General) visa
You must already be in the UK under any of the following visas or schemes:
Tier 2 (Intra company Transfer: established staff) visa and you’re applying to change sponsor

So does the T2 ICT - short term or long term considered as ICT - established staff visa
If yes, can this not be switched to a Tier 2 General?

The route you quote closed April 6, 2011. So you are subject to a 12 month cooling off period. You would need to pass RLMT and a restricted CoS.

Thanks for the quick response but I think I am basically stuck even if i have a good offer as I dont think any company will agree for me to work from my home country for a year.

That is kinda the idea. Haven't you figured out that the UK doesn't like us?
