Naturalization for Wife

Post by saqibs » Thu Apr 02, 2015 11:44 am

Hello all,

Naturalisation Application for Wife:

My Status: I got British Citizenship in Oct-2014
Her visa history:
First dependant Visa stamped [tier-1 G partner]: 19-Jun-2011
Entry clearance: 23-Jul-2011
Got Extension in 26/02/2013 (valid until feb-2016)
She completed her 2-years and passed LIUK & B1
GOT ILR : 17/06/2014

total time in UK: 3 years 8 months

Is she eligible to apply for naturalisation now?

Thanks in advance for you co-operation.

Yes, she can apply now as spouse of British Citizen provided she meets all the standard requirements and absences are within the limits allowed.

Thanks CR for your prompt reply.

She was absent for 3 months and 7 days right after the ILR.

Is she still eligible for naturalisation?

Many Thanks

Absence limits are no more than 270 days in the 3 years immediately preceeding application date and no more than 90 days in the 12 months immediately preceeding application date.

Make sure that your wife was physically present in the UK 3 years previous to the date you submit the BC application.

See page 8 of the booklet.
