Conviction 8 years ago

Post by dipmm2000d » Fri Apr 03, 2015 12:42 am

I had driving conviction and fine from court for driving without licence but I now applied for naturslisation on 01 April 2015 . I have not disclosed them as I thought I do not have to. I have not seen this on DBS CHECK AS WELL which I fid in 2013.

Will my application be refused because of not disclosing this ? Can they find about old conviction? Now is there any option left for me ?

Thanks

Sorry if this disappoints, but court conviction IMHO needs to be declared! Did you apply through NCS? Did you read the guidance notes?

Write and declare the conviction or you could face a 10 year ban.

I thought I don't have to declare spent conviction. Another thing I never declared this in 2007, 08 and 2009 student extension and during my ilr in 2012 . If I do now is this going to affect on previous application ? I also heard DVLA delete spent conviction . Lastly my standard DBS does not show this which I fid in 2013.

What should I do as I already sent the application by NCS. Thanks

Court convictions needs declared in my opinion, regardless that being spent or otherwise, unless statutory declaration was made and granted. DBS, APCO, PNC unfortunately dont show this - strictly speaking from personal experience..

Did you actually been to the court and convicted or postal fine from the court?

I have the similar convictions LC10 & IN20 , but paid the fine issued by court and had 8 points in 2008. Its all cleared now.
I have Naturalisation due in a month.Still seems needs declaring. Please Advice?

There is no such thing as a spent or unspent conviction for the purpose of immigration and nationality applications.
