Tier 2 Query

Post by carolinatri » Tue Apr 07, 2015 11:24 am

Hi, I worked for a company until January 2015 (they sponsored me for the Tier 2 General visa) and they notified the home office that my contract ended in January.

Now they want to hire me again for a different position. They have completed their own selection process but haven't done the RLMT. The fact that they were my previous sponsor and that before the Tier 2 I had a Post Study work visa could mean that the RLMT is not necessary or the visa process is easier?? Could they use their own selection process for the RLMT?

Usually how long does it take for a sponsor to complete the RLMT and issue the CoS?

Many thanks!

if the job is different, it means different SOC code and hence a RLMT is needed.
Was your leave curtailed? Are you still in UK?
RLMT takes 28 days, and assigning cos takes 30 min, however, they need to have cos allocation to assign one. Requesting increase in cos can take up to 2 weeks.
The above info is based on fact u are in UK and will need unrestricted cos.

Thank you so much. Yes, I'm still in the UK and my visa hasn't been curtailed (well I have not received the letter even though I stopped work in January..)

Could the fact that the home office hasn't curtailed my visa make things easier for the sponsor?

Many thanks!
