Immigration Health Care Surcharge

Post by icprashanth » Wed Apr 08, 2015 11:24 am

Hi,
me and my wife are on tier 1 general, applying tier 1 general dependent for my son,

please can you let me know what is the amount i need to pay for Immigration healh care surcharge.

i visited the link from ukgov website.

https://www.immigration-health-surcharg ... ecker/type
it has 3 options, let me know which option to select.
1.applying alone
2.coming to uk with dependents
3.applying to join somebody (main applicant) in uk.

i guess the last option (3) is the right one,
after selecting the option 3

the next screen asks
what is their visa route?
i dont see Tier 1 General , but i see Tier 1 General dependent option,

please advise which option to select.

Simple answer is £200 per person per year. So if you extend your visa for another two years which will be 3 * 200 * 2.

You only have to pay it if your applying for a new category extending your visa in the same category. If you both don't have to extend then don't have to pay.

Hi icprashanth,

My ILR has been approved just a few days ago thru Tier 1(General) 5 year route and i'm applying for my Dependent extension now.

As per the new rules, i should pay £600 for an IHS ref. number before making my dependent application. I had to fill a 'Health Surcharge Online application' and pay for this Online but had this following problem in the middle, please help me on this;

The application is started with 'Lead' applicant details; i believe this is my Wife in my case, who is applying for Tier 1 (General) extension. I have ticked the following for her,
'' About you - Personal details
.....
.....
Visa Route - PBS Dependent (Tier 1, 2 and 5)
Visa Type - Tier 1(General)
.....
..... ''
<<SAVE & CONTINUE>>
'' Are you applying to join or remain with a person already in the UK?''
<<Add their details here>>
''Main Applicant details
.....
.....
Visa Route - ?
DISCRETIONARY LEAVE
FLR
FLR (OTHER)
PBS DEPENDENT (TIER 1, 2 AND 5)
TIER 1
TIER 2
TIER 2 PBS DEPENDENT
TIER 4
TIER 5''
When i have selected the choice 'Tier 1' for the above question, the choices populated in the dropdown list for the next one are,
'' Visa Type - ?
TIER 1 (EXCEPTIONAL TALENT) VISA
TIER 1 (EXCEPTIONAL TALENT) VISA 1 YEAR
TIER 1 (EXCEPTIONAL TALENT) VISA 2 YEAR
TIER 1 (EXCEPTIONAL TALENT) VISA 3 YEAR
TIER 1 (EXCEPTIONAL TALENT) VISA 4 YEAR
TIER 1 (EXCEPTIONAL TALENT) VISA 5 YEAR
TIER 1 (GRADUATE ENTREPRENEUR) VISA
TIER ENTREPRENEUR
TIER INVESTOR
.....
.....''
There is a third section for adding dependents... (if relevant)...but the application obviously allows to fill up only one out of 2nd and 3rd sections...

I know that this is a new application and many of you guys had never dealt with it but now i think i have explained my problem in detail. Gurus/Moderators/Senior members or anyone out there who has dealt with it in the last couple of days, please help me on this. Please guys...time is running out for us...desperately looking for help...

Thank you very much for ur time and advice.

regards
