Received letter on March 1 asking for missing passport which was lost, so provided lost report and copies of travelling documents with boarding passes.

Hi peeps,
I received an acknowledgment letter (19th Feb) from the homeoffice, and they have also returned my documents. The HO requested that I change my name to demonstrate good character requirements. I have since changed my name via a solicitor and sent them a copy of the "change of name deed" in early March. To date I have not received an acknowledgement letter regarding name change. Question: for those of you who have had to provide further information to HO, does the HO acknowledge every letter/documents that you have provided? OR is this simply a waiting game

They dont formally respond. I sent them documents through mail and email both and received standard email, nothing received specific so far.

Why would they ask you to change your name to demonstrate good character requirements???! That sounds dearly beloved; it's like asking someone to stop being black to demonstrate good character!

I applied on 10-Feb too through NCS.

After 3 weeks unimaginable happened but any ways... I'm still waiting.. enquired with HO but they said "early days" as every case is different but can take up to 6 months

how you 2 guys [SSWSZ & Proud7] applied on 10th of Feb, postal or NCS ?

Through NCS . Applied on 10 , fee deducted on 17 feb , mail accknowledge on 18 and postal on 21 feb and still waiting .
Mine is straight forward case on dependent visa from last 9 years applied own my own on 5 year rules . Not even have driving license so no convictions . Don't know what else I should mention . It's just a luck so I think we should just wait and watch . Best of luck

There is really no pattern for citizenship applications it seems. Definately not by receiving date. So many March applicants got approval while Jan & feb applicants are waiting.

They might not pick up your arrest as you have already submitted your application. They mightve already checked your criminal history prior to your arrest? never know

I contacted Nationality Directorate on 30/March and asked if any docs have been issued/posted under my name? I got phone call back within 72 hours. Reply was " NO, nothing has been sent out plus early days " so just waiting now !

Been told by people to inform them (by post on Liverpool address) about False allegations (as Police Constable said too) + Separation; on the address provide at the from of NCS acceptance form. should I ? or to Sheffield address by using Migrant Circumstances Change form.. OR just sit crossed legged and wait till 10th of August ?

Arrest should not be a problem as long as u r not convicted/charged/cautioned or warned thou it will leave footprints on ur PNC as arrested and NFA'd. But it would not count towards bad character.

Its really your call. I personally wouldn't do it id just sit back and let them contact, instead of you telling them something which they mightve not known opening a can of worms! If they're really busy which they are nowadays they would just go by what's sitting within your application and probably make a decision bases on that. But that's me! Good luck

OK, let's just wait n c what happens and stay +ve as you guys are encouraging ( thanks for that ).

my only concern was , if they had not done the Checks with PNC they might just look NFA's or my name sitting there and without checking much details Case Worker might just copy/paste the script and stamp it !

Plus, life has turned upside down in a short span of time.Separation established Divorce on its way. was just wondering if any damage can come from my (ex)partner towards this ? just don't want HO accuse me next of not informing them of changes which they might found from other side with full flavoured spices!

I have noticed that there was someone had the same timeline as mine in the last year, and got his approval on 12.04.2014, so I hope I will get the approval by 12.04.2015.

Your application timeline and mine are very similar, I applied on 13th Feb and received my Ack letter on 25th Feb dated 19 feb and we both are still waiting for the approvals. I suppose, Feb applicants are on back burner for now and they are concentrating more on March applicants.
