Extending visa: CoS

Post by mangomm » Wed Apr 08, 2015 11:14 am

Hi everyone,

I cannot seem to find a clear answer on this online, so I hope you can help!

I am applying to extend my Tier 2 Sponsored Visa, with the same employer, same job code, same salary before my current visa expires in May.

Does my employer need to apply for a new CoS?

your employer has to assign a new CoS before you can apply.

Check that your salary is still adequate in light of the April 15 increases

Hi Manci,

Can I please get concrete answer on this?
My initial Tier 2 General Visa has been approved on February 2013 and now I am going for extension in January 2016.
My question is : Which document do I need to look at?

1. PBS codes of practice: skilled workers (from 6 April 2015)
2. PBS codes of practice: skilled workers (from 6 April 2014 to 5 April 2015)
3. PBS codes of practice: skilled workers (1 October 2013 to 5 April 2014)

Many Thanks,
Praveen

Hi Manci, or any other gurus out there!

I have another question about the CoS required for extending my visa.

The new Codes of Practice require a £2,000 increase in my salary if I am to extend my visa. In the event that my employers are unwilling to raise my salary this much, is it possible to change SOC codes on my new CoS?

There is a very similar SOC code to the one I am currently on, which has a minimum salary just a bit lower than my current salary. Can I keep my current salary and switch SOC codes to extend my visa? Or does my visa extension need to be with the SOC code I'm currently under?

Many thanks!!

if your employers wish to change the SOC, they will have to carry out a rlmt
