Thanks bro. Yes indeed it took a few days to arrive. Not sure if they were hand delivering it by walking all the way from HO to my residence lol as it was approved on 31/03

I do have a quick question for you. I called council soon after I received my approval this morning(more like 12 PM) to try and book a ceremony date. But they said that they have not had any correspondence from HO confirming my approval and asked me to call them back on Monday.

What does that mean? do they get letter AFTER we the applicants get informed?

How did you go about the ceremony yourself?

apocolypto, In your approval letter there is the number to your local council to call for your ceremony right. I did call that number and was asked for the home office reference number on the approval letter. They book me for the ceremony on the 16th. My local council don't send letter. So call and see if they have your home office ref number on file.

Thanks Tangie and mazhar,

I just called the Barking and Dagenham registration center, on the number provided in the approval letter and they are adamant that they have not had my paperwork from the HO yet.

What I don't understand is that, my approval letter is dated 31/03, I received it on Friday 10/04, but Council has not received their copy of the approval???

is it normal? should it take that long? I have a feeling that council is playing delaying tactics, as firstly they do not answer their phone that easily, when they do, without taking any surname/reference numbers they start saying that they are getting a high number of calls and they do not have paper work from HO, which they do double check by surname afterwards.

Not sure if they are making us desparate enough to go for the private ceremonies to make some bucks - not sure!

Can anyone comment please?

I sent my naturalisation in October. Got approval within 5 weeks but I did the ceremony on 26 February. This is when I applied for the passport. Dont look at my passport time line as it was crazy. They asked pictures twice, new form, etc

If you go to the passport section you would see it takes a little bit longer but usually you get it within 2 weeks

But I see March 2015 applicants getting way too nervous and edgy than anyone and a bit too soon. No need to worry in my view, with a small sample tellings us they have approximately 7,000 applications per month. I'd not worry if we are a bit delayed.

Members in my October 2014 timeline seem very patient. Perhaps they realised no point in getting anxious.
