Post by invisible » Tue Oct 02, 2007 1:00 pm

Dear All,

I just want to check my eligibility for UK Permanent Residency.

My Status

I have a valid work permit from 22 October 2002 to 28April2008 and recently I switched my WP to HSMP and my HSMP is Valid from 18July2007 to 17July2009.

UK Entry
1)Entered in the UK in 30October2002 and worked till 1stNovember2003.

2)Went back to my Home Country for Project related work for 4.5months(From02November2003 to 28March2004)

3)CAme back to UK in same project from 29March2004 to 29March2006.

4)Went back to my Home Country again for Project related work for 6months(From30March2006 to 30September2006)

5)Came back to UK again in same project from 1October2006 to till date.

I am continueing with same employer for all Five Years.

I am Confuse in my point number 2) and 4).

Can you please suggest me whether I am eligible to Apply for UK Permanent Residency OR NOT?

and what kind of documentation evidence required for point number(2) and (4)? FOR this I can get a leetoer from my employer showing that I was away from UK for these two duration for UK based project related work?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Your help is much appriciated.

Thanks
DEEPA

Do you mean Indefinite Leave to Remain? Basically after you have been living in the UK for 5 years, you may be entitled for ILR. You may know very well that fact. for how many days you can be absent in the Uk while counting 5 years, you can check the application pack which is pdf file on home office website.

best wishes

I'm probably wrong, but I thought I've read in multiple places that you can't have left the UK for more than 90 days. Anyone want to further elaborate?
