Tier 2 Dependent visa validity

Post by Basildon » Wed Apr 15, 2015 12:01 pm

I still have time but want to understand.

My scenario:

My Tier 2 General company sponsored Visa expires in June 2016.

I plan to get married in Dec 2015 and hence apply for my wife's dependent visa few days after marriage in Dec 2015.

What will be the validity of my wife's visa? Will it also be valid only till June 2016 and i need to re-apply in June for my extension and my wife's visa OR will she get a visa for longer validity than June 2016?

I read in one of the posts somewhere on this website that in such scenarios the dependent (wife) can get longer validity than the sponsor if sponsor's visa is valid for less that 1 year....although i am not entirely sure of this.

Can someone please put some light on this please?

Dependent visa fees currently is around Rs.92000/- from my knowledge. Spending this amount twice in 6 months time is not the best idea!!

Hope it makes sense.

Thanks.

Oh Ok.. Thats not pleasant news :(
Thanks for clarifying though.

Does that mean i have to pay the full fess twice? (Rs. 92000 x 2) or will the fees be any lower the first time when the validity is less for around 6 months only?

Thanks

T2 dependant visa fee is currently £564 per person if applied from outside UK, which is equivalent to around INR 51997.44

Its the same fee even whenever you apply.

Thanks justdoopposite!

https://visa-fees.homeoffice.gov.uk/y/i ... family/all
if you scroll down in the link to : Family of settled people (settlement)

and visa type:
Spouse or civil partner of a settled person: Application fees says as INR95600

Is this something different?

Thanks.
