HAHA U know in UK whoever has done his own application has become solicitor afterwards and they just dont bother to do things which r making them do extra work (no offense to ur solicitor just talking in general).mavdi wrote:Just asked my solicitor if I could get my passport back so I can go on a holiday. He told me doing this could have a negative impact in the result. Now I'm not sure if that's true, or he said it so that he didn't have to deal with asking HO for my documents back...
In both cases, it's silly.

How would it leave a negative impact on the application? If that is the case then all NCS applications would be having (GOD FORBID) negative impact coz they r not even sending the originals at all.
In ur case atleast u have sent them originals and now u r asking them back which is allowed by HO anyways.
U can just fill in the online form for return of documents on HO website and just make sure where they ask "Do u want to withdraw ur application" u tick no and it should not have any positive or negative impact on ur application and u will get ur documents back with the letter that HO will ask them back if needed and ofcourse u can travel, there is no problem in it.
My solicitor submitted a legalised copy (free) of my passport with my application and returned the original of my passport back to me as I'm travelling in the Middle East at the end of the month. He said that the HO is perfectly fine with this as legalised copy is exactly the same as the original.mavdi wrote:Just asked my solicitor if I could get my passport back so I can go on a holiday. I'm not disappointed about this decision as in my country is war for the moment, people from other country will understand me like Iraq, Livia, Palestine etcetera. Make sure your solicitor know what he doing as my wasn't competent.
Good luck to all.
