March 2015 Naturalization application timeline

I had applied on 27th March and applikation has been received on 31st March, but no fees deducted yet.. This Tuesday coming will be 3 weeks.. Any advice what shall I do anyone?

Random question. Once granted citizenship, do you HAVE to get a British passport right away or at all?

I'm not in the position to get one for a while. We literally scraped the barrel to just get citizenship sorted and paid for, so getting my British passport currently isn't a high priority.

Not doing so won't void my naturalisation when I get it, will it?

Not at all, once you get your citizen ship certificate your are naturalised, you may not require your British passport for the rest of your life. I am sure every Brit not a British passport holder, it is required only if you want to travel on it. You can continue using your exciting passport for your travel.
But you must keep your certificate with you when coming back to UK since after your naturalisation your biometric card may seize to function as I read it in some thread.

I got back my nat.certificate and a letter I quote:
Once we start processing your case we might ask the document back."

Meaning I was right. They have not done anything except taking payment since 2 March.
I feel we will have a long waiting time for my husband.

Towards the end of march I was asked to send my wife's previous passport since it had a visa that covered a portion of her 5-year qualifying period. Not sure why NCS didn't send this when we applied originally. Pretty decent turnaround time despite this.

I am not sure if my payment has gove through or not, but I have received an email from Home Office saying that thay have received my applacation and is under consideration. The decision can be made within 6 month and I have a case number... Is this as acknowledgement letter?

That's your acknowledgement email which means the same thing as the letter. You'll also receive a letter.
