are you on 50k or 200k?

if you are on 50k Route then you can invest in franchise but the service should not below NQF level 4.

and if you are on 200k then you can invest in any franchise .

Cheers

Thanks for that. I am on 50k route and I do know that we can invest on a franchise of level 4 and above but my query was whether or not the franchise fee (there is an initial fee that is paid to franchisor and then ongoing monthly/ annual fees) paid to the franchisor will be considered as part of the investment or not? Hope I am clear, anyone with an answer to this please reply

Yes, the cost of the franchise is considered an investment. I did so last year

I asked 1 accountant, who already submitted few cases or dealing with ent visa, he said franchise fee will not be counted as investment because this is the amount you are paying for good will / name.

According to Policy Guide (Businesses that are set up as franchises can be accepted for the award of points)

Here can be accepted means the service should be more than NQF level 4.

Oh god I wish UKBA had a exclusive helpline for applicants in this route, everything is so confusing and unclear with different answers to most query posted here. Any advice on checking if NQF level matches the business that I am looking at as even solicitors that I have approached are confused about it and doesn't give a firm answer :?

No one is clear about NQF at the time of extension, guidence says only for initial applications, but if they will only consider NQF level 4 business then definately franchising of any retail etc is not considerable.
