Tier 2: Different duration in CoS and job contract

Post by lonuk » Mon Apr 20, 2015 11:09 pm

Good evening,

I've got a CoS and subsequently, a Tier 2 general visa for the next 3 years. So far so good :)

However, my employer is not willing to give me a 3-year job contract. Instead, I've only got a 1-year contract with a promise that it will be extended later.

Is it OK that my CoS/visa and the job contract have different end dates? Or will it cause any problems?

There is nothing much you can do. If after 1 year your employer doesn't want to renew your contract they can withdraw the sponsorship.

OK, many thanks. Good to know I won't be in trouble because of the date discrepancy.
