Tier 1 General Dependent Guidance With New rules Post April

Post by zeeshah2013 » Mon Apr 27, 2015 1:18 pm

Hi There,

Given the new rules that came in place on 6th April, can someone please guide me with the correct procedure on applying for the extension of a Tier 1 General Dependent Visa and also the documents required.

I'm applying for my wife visa and i'm currently on ILR which i got in dec 2014 after completing 5 years as Tier 1 general. Her leave is going to be expired on 2 Jun 2015 .
I wanted to go for Premium but given the extra NHS charge, will be sending by post

I have seen other threads as well but they are dated long ago so wanted to be sure i don't miss anything since then

Few Questions below that i would like to get an answer for ?

1) Whats the best way to apply ?

using the new beta service as below
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-partner [Has anyone used this before)
or should I post the documents by filling the paper form

Also for BRP, i believe we have to go to a Post office for the scan? When and how do you book the appointment for it. Is it after posting the documents or before that ?

2) Do i have to pay NHS surcharge ? And do i have to do it before applying .
Given the extension is for 3 years , it would be £600.

3) As i'm the main applicant on whom my dependent is based on, do i have to send my Original Passport and BRP along with the other documents or only copies

4) 3-6 months Pay slips and possibly p60

5) 3 months bank statements

6) marriage certificate and Utility bills

7) Tenancy Agreement

8) Photographs of Dependent (Wife in this case)

9) Would they give extension for 3 years or the remaining balance?

Any other information would be really helpful

Thanks,
Zee

3) How will be the fingerprints of the dependent taken ?

I can only answer some of your questions.

1. PBS Dependent paper form. I would not trust a 'Beta' service and besides, the link you have posted does not work.

2. HO will write to your wife after application is sent to submit biometrics at Post Office. The letter will have a barcode on which the post office will need and scan to upload her information.

3. Yes she has to pay the NHS surcharge. Payable upfront for the duration of the visa at point of application (before you post it) as you need the IHS number for her application for extension. https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigrati ... cation/pay
Char (CR001 not Casa)

Up to you you can apply by post or via PEO, but as CR001 said I dont rely on BETA, as its say BETA not alpha.

using the new beta service as below

YES

3) As i'm the main applicant on whom my dependent is based on, do i have to send my Original Passport and BRP along with the other documents or only copies

YES

4) 3-6 months Pay slips and possibly p60

Preferably 6 months Payslips and P60 is optional

5) 3 months bank statements

Yes, 6 month would be ideal

6) marriage certificate and Utility bills

Yes, to prove cohabation try to get at least 5 docs the more you the more strong the relation ship (As per HO understanding)

7) Tenancy Agreement

YES

8) Photographs of Dependent (Wife in this case)

YES

9) Would they give extension for 3 years or the remaining balance?

what is the current visa time line
Any other information would be really helpful

Thanks,
Zee

3) How will be the fingerprints of the dependent taken ?

Thanks guys for posting a prompt reply

just on question 3, needed further clarification

3) As i'm the main applicant on whom my dependent is based on, do i have to send my Original Passport and BRP along with the other documents or only copies

YES (
Do i have to send original? If yes then both Passport and BRP or just one of them would suffice?
Or only send Copies of both and not originals

For in country you have to send original PP and BRP

For out of country then colored copy of brp and pp. Attested by lawyer.
