Child Born Overseas (Pakistan) to British Citizen

Post by ayubkhan72 » Fri May 30, 2014 1:46 pm

Hi

I am a British Citizen and so as my wife and including our two children who are British by birth. We (I and my wife) are British Citizen by naturalisation or registration. I have moved to Pakistan few years ago and am working here for now.

If my child is born in Pakistan, will he/she be eligible to apply for British Citizenship and be able to apply for British Passport? If so, what is the process that I have to follow (here in Pakistan) in order to register my to be newborn child and apply for his/her British passport.

I hope someone can help me clarifying the process and guide me in the right direction.

Thanks

Your child will automatically British wherever s(he) is born. You just apply for a British Passport abroad using the online service.

What was her response?
Anyway if you can easily print them out then that's a better option in my view (many vending machines printout photos).

This is by no means a confirmation, but at the end of the interview, did he make you sign on an electronic pad?

Don't panic! Wait and see what happens.

I am guessing that because its outside of UK so perhaps he was just being difficult to asses how genuine was the case, you didn't panic there so no need to panic now. Good luck.
