Who else is still waiting for the approval from sept'14 list? I applied on 26 Sept and no joy yet. I called HO yesterday and the staff was completely disinterested. told me to wait for another 3 - 6 months. I am not impressed with the service and specially the attitude of the call centre staff.

I was thinking to write to the complaint team or meet my MP and now I have changed my mind .I had sent a letter to furthernationalityenquiries and they replied me with a scary letter ...scrutiny checks etc.I wrote to the nationality team 6 weeks ago and never received any reply...
And my passport will expire in a month time .Really dont know what to do.

in my mind i think, while they talk about and do scrutiny checks they actually take more time...do you have any FPN/Caution/Conviction or anything else that worries you?

what is the email address you used to write to furthernationalityenquiries?

Please double check the following:

-If you have the passport in your hand then extend it using your own ebassy in the UK....
-if it is with them and you are not planning to travel i think you just WAIT...WAIT AND WAIT....when you get it back extend it normally...
-if you are planning to travel while HO has your expiring passport then all you can do is to write to them and request them to return only your passport (not sure whether you can do it or not)...

I also have ILE and on my original passport it expired in 2005. Its a known issue by most people so employers should not have an issue with it. Just explain its indefinite leave which means it doesn't expire. I always have to explain to people when they say its expired. When i go abroad its always annoying getting loads of questions saying its expired but in the end indefinite is indefinite.

The ILE itself doesnt expire they just need to put an expiry date if it was issued outside the UK. indefinite means you can leave and enter the UK at any time. Immigration officers might ask questions about the expiry date just point that it says indefinite and it should be fine.

I went turkey in February and I'm going greece in June and my ILE says its expired in 2005.
