Got Approval on 1st May 2015.
After nearly 5 months.

Hi Galaxy
My friend got his approval and he told me he called council and book a ceremony. HO send a letter with your reference like one sent you(the approval letter ) so they know you are allowed to take the ceremony by HO.
Some time they got letter couple a day after you which depends post so nothing to wait from council, you should call them and ask for book a date for ceremony, you can pay and ask for privet ceremony which is around £100-£130 for each applicant if the group ceremony it's far and you are in rush.

There are two different ways that HO send letters. One is an approval and ceremony letter combined into one and the other is 2 separate letters a couple of weeks apart (approval letter and ceremony letter).

Letter which i recieved say that "your application is succesfull and will recieve invitation letter from council for oath soon and you donot call them"
Shall I wait for invitation letter or call them to book private ceremony?

My suggestion to all new applicants that send them atleast First class return envelope.

No of applicants: 1 Adult
Eligibility Criteria : 10 yrs + 1 yr ILR

Received HO receipt 2 weeks later.
Untill now I haven't heard anything; contacted HO many time but got the same answer ( Less than 6 months...)

Finally,after a pretty long wait I received my approval today.

confirmation 19th Dec 2014
Date of approval received 13 May )dated 2nd May
Ceremony: private,18th May

Received my ceremony letter today for 20th may.

End of a long journey! I can proudly say i am a british citizen whoop! Its been hard, but i got there in the end!

5 months now and still waiting. I applied on the 17th of December.

My passport was expired for a year before it was renewed as we forgot it had expired and my parents didn't get a chance to renew it for a while. The NCS lady pointed that out and i had to show that i was in the country so i attached a letter from my university saying my degree was covered from 2009-2013. does anyone know if this could be what's causing the hold up with HO and could this mean that my application will take longer than 6 months?

Phoned them on 15/04/2015: man on the phone was very kind to explain that they can not see anything on the screen for the applications made less when 6 months ago, basicly HO contacts applicants if they need any more information on the case and if they did not receive information they asked for. also nice voice on the phone said to me, that all cases are different and all cases take different time scale to do checks on them. Well for the next 7 and a half weeks nothing I can do just wait and enjoy nice weather
Phoned to HO on 13/05/15: Lady on the phone took my mobile number and e-mail and she said someone going to contact me about my application.
19/05/15 received phone call from HO: Lady on the phone said that my application still under consideration and I should receive letter any time soon. She said that there is no problems with application and she can't tell nothing more until decision will be made. so I'm back in my waiting shoes lol after 15 days will be 6 months of waiting
