12 years residence

Post by prs » Tue May 12, 2015 12:43 am

Hi everyone,

I entered the UK in Jan 2003 and claimed asylum and my asylum application was rejected and after a long and painful battle with H.O. I received a 3 year DLR in 2012 (not under my asylum case) which was expired in Jan 2015.

I sent an application to extend my Visa (DLR) before my first DLR was expired! I then received an acknowledgment letter from H.O. along with another letter asking me to go to a Post Office for my BRP (biometric information) to be taken to which i complied and my BRP was taken successfully in my local Post Office!

I was then expecting to receive another acknoledgment letter from HO to confirm the receipt of my BRP but they failed to send me anything! So i called them and they told me that they have received my BRP and my case was gone to OLCU .

So I called the OLCU today and told them that I have been waiting for over 4 months with no updates from them and the guy on the phone said that he cannot give me any time scale but they have my application and no decisions have been made on it as of yet!!

my questions are:

1- why did they ask me for my BRP before any decisions was made on my case and it was soon as I sent them my extension application?
2- What is the average processing time for OLCU?
3- going by the information provided about my case, what are my chances to get a desirable outcome?
4- can I apply for ILR if they give me another DLR as I have been in this country since 2003?
