New Rules for General Visitor Visa starting April 2015

Post by v4vikramrana » Wed May 13, 2015 8:48 pm

Hi There,

I just read the following post

New Rules for Visitors

A new set of rules for visitors to the United Kingdom will affect all visit visa applications made on or after the 24 April 2015. The changes are brought about by the Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules HC 1025. The new rules aim to simplify the process of obtaining a visitor visa. When the new rules come into force, anyone entering the UK in the ‘standard visitor’ category will be able to carry out some ‘business activities’ and also take a holiday. The separate category of “business visitor” will disappear.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -documents

According the link above, we only need to provide

1. Visitor could support himself
2. Sponsolr could support the visitor

There is a list that says do not send

-if you are applying as a family/group you do not need to provide multiple copies
of the same documents
-bank statements or letters issued more than 1 year before the date of
application
-driving licence
 photographs (other than passport photographs required in section 1)
 notarial certificates
 business cards
 hotel bookings
 flight bookings
 photocopies of bank cards
 credit card statements
 certificates relating to leisure activities
 evidence of car ownership
 travel insurance
 sponsor’s utility bills
 sponsor’s council tax bills
 educational certificates (unless specifically listed in section 3)#

Has anyone applied under the new rules. What documentation have you supplied.

I am thinking to provide now

From myself (Sponsor)
1. Invitation Letter
2. Sponsorhip undertaking
3. 6 months payslips
4. 3 months bank statements
5. Tax form
6. Letter of Employement
7. Visa Copy
8. Passport Copy

For my visitor(my sister)
1. Letter of Employment
2. Letter of Vacation Approval
3. 3 Months Bank Statement
4. 6 Months Salary Statement
5. Tax form of India
6. Fixed Deposit Ceritificates
7. Cover Letter
8. Finance plan for the trip

The document I am not planning to add anymore
1. Marriage Affidavit

Hi Vikram,

Did you apply for the visa for your sister?

I am planning to apply/sponsor for my wife's parents and am planning to submit docs based on the new rule.
I had a doubt regarding one of the questions - What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)?
What exactly does this mean? Is this the personal expenses the visitor will incur when they visit UK because all expenses will be taken care by me.

Would appreciate any info on this.

Thanks
Doshi
