COS for 6 years but visa for 3

Hi all.

I am a doctor in training and been recently offered a training post for 6 years and they are planning to issue me a COS for 6 years. However, I would only need a visa for 3 years as i can apply for PR after that.. Applying for 6 years would mean spending extra cash for visa and healthfees for my dependents.

Can I apply for visa for 3 years only, even if the COS is 6 years?

No. u will have to ask them to issue you a cos for equal to or less than 3 years.
