Query Regarding SOC Code

Post by hassanh » Wed May 27, 2015 12:27 pm

Hi Manci and Other menbers,

I have a query regarding SOC Code 2133 IT specialist managers. It Says 40,300 for Experienced Workers and Source: Incomes Data Services in 2014, uplifted based on national changes in earnings.

How many weekly hours this salary would be based on 40 hours or 39 hours. I am just confused as the new entrant salary source for this code is Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings 2014 which is 39 hours a week.

Can, you please advise if the experienced rate for this code should be for 40 hours or 39 hours?

Thanks,
Hassan

Thanks for your reply. Should it be 40 hours week as it says (in the link you mentioned) for all other cases its 40 hours week?

Hassan

Then what are the hours for source Incomes Data Services in 2014, uplifted based on national changes in earnings? The hours are not mentioned in the document for Income Data Services? Where can I find this?

Your or other members help in this regard would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Hassan

Hi

look at page 4 in below link

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... l_2015.pdf

urs come under 40 hours, others

as your code will be now 1136 (see page 22 of the link)

the link which you have provided is of 2014 which is now updated by 2015 version.

URS is definitely 40 which you can prorate to your working hours.

I was in the same situation earlier.

The only problem is they raised salary threshold to 75,500 for 40 hours.

prorate to your working hours to know your requirement. ( 35 hours or 33 hours or 37.5 hours or any )

Hi Deepam,

The salary for code 2119 is 27,200 for Experience Rate, not 75,500.

Thanks,
Hassan

Hiya..I'm not a senior member, but have applied for my visa few days back on the same SOC code. It is based on 40 hrs a week as per my understanding of the following text (highlighted in bold red) from codes of practice April 2015 file:

The rates are based on a 39-hour working week for all occupations where the salary source used is the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings. Where other salary sources are used, please note that the rates are based on the following weekly hours:
 Where the source is NHS Agenda for Change or the Royal Institute of British Architects, a 37.5-hour week;
 Where the source is teachers’ national pay scales, the definition of a full-time teacher is used when determining those pay scales;
 Where the source is the National Grid submission to the Migration Advisory Committee, a 37-hour week;
In all other cases, a 40-hour week.

Good luck.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.
