British Passport with Incorrect Details

Hi

I need your help. I have received my british passport but my place of birth is spell incorrectly.

I have called them and they advised me to do renew of passport application and provide details again such as indian passport and naturalisation certificate. It is spell correctly on naturalisation certificate.

Please confirm there is no other way to fix it. Can I not directly contact local passport office where I went for interview? I also have to do counter signature details again?

Please advise.
