10 years long residence applications

Post by sud315 » Mon Jun 01, 2015 12:15 am

I have a question,
re dependants visa,

Has any one used an expired IELTS certificate? Was the application successful?
He has a degree from UK, but it is HND and then Top up 3rd year. So not sure if it will be sufficient for the language requirement
However this top up degree certificate doesn't say top up.

So if include the expired IELTS, would it make them to suspect the degree certificate and create unnecessary issues? :? :?
(this visa will be applied from home, not in the UK; and he's previously been rejected (nothing significant though) so I'm stressing even more!)

Any info/ experience you know similar to this, please share.
Many thanks!

FLR(M) Help Please - Spouse 10 Years LR

Post by sud315 » Mon Jun 01, 2015 12:20 am

Wonder if this is the right thread for dependants applying under family of settled?
I've just received my ILR (10 years) and so would like to know info about applying for dependant visa.
However this dependant application will not be made inside the UK. So I'm not sure if this FLR (M) is the right thread for me :?:

Is there a thread for settled person dependants applying from overseas please?
Thank you.

It is VAF4A for applications from abroad. FLR(M) is for applications made within the UK.
he's previously been rejected (nothing significant though)
What was the reason for refusal and for what application??

A visit visa refusal should have no effect on a spouse visa application provided you meet all the requirements for a spouse visa.

Thank you CR001
But his visa was rejected prior to tourist visa as well; under my dependent visa due to my course been short (less than 1 year but the university said dependent can get)
So will it affect his application?

It should not be an issue for a spouse visa application.

Thanks a lot CR. I really hope it won't be rejected again too

Would you recommend including expired IELTS certificate?

You will need to check in the above links if the test is in the transitional list if taken before 5th April 2015.

Not sure if there is a timeline thread for Sri Lanka but you can have a look at these two in the meantime.

I didn't expect to find a country specific one anyway. Even a general outside UK settlement application one would suffice to get info.
Yes I'll refer to these. Thank you very much!

The timelines should be more or less the same as India and Pakistan in my opinion.

Good luck and let us know if you have any further questions.
