Standard Visitor visa for mother in law

Iam currently holding tier 2 general visa which expires march 2016. I would like to invite my mother in law to visit for 6 months. Whats the type of visa?

In visitor category,

Family visitor or general visitor?

Also remember that she will have to provide a lot of documents proving her ties to her home country and her circumstances in her home country.

(Family) Single, double and multiple, valid up to 6 months.
Is this application invalid then?


But when I select General under the category visitor , it says thats for visiting tourist destinations.So I have selected visitor -> Family Visitor -> Family upto six months (This visa is intended for applicants wanting to visit close family members). Why should not I apply in this category?

Dear guru urgent help need
I applied family visit visa for my wife and send her all original documents but at Vfs office Lahore Pakistan she was told to make copy of and each document and send only copies keep originals .she kept marriage certificate original and p60 ,bills ,nhs letter and gave her just copies of these documents I m worried what will happen kindly help me? Is it ok or we gone be lose visa ???any suggestion what should I do now plz help in big trouble

Do u think she will get the visa ??? I m worried,

Make sure she show strong evidence of family ties and with the family and as much supporting documents as possible. The ECO will need any excuse to refuse the application
