In your case, it's been already 10 working days from the date of your application at Mumbai. But the processing timelines published at http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/India/pdf/In ... 290515.pdf shows that settlement visas taken only 4 working days for Mumbai.

I still can't get what's the exact logic behind these processing timelines. Is it like non local application takes more processing time at BHC?

Please do post your status as soon as hear back from Mumbai BHC.

Spoke with member of UKVI today ,they mentioned the official stats is on gov.uk website (mentioned below). My application is in queue and avg processing time for mumbai is 30 working days

Hi everyone,

I've applied for my husband's visa on 27/04/2015 and sent an email to check the status of the application. The response I got is as follows:

"Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry
Service.

We understand that you would like to know about the current status of your
visa application. I have tracked the status (GWFxxxxxxxxx and date of birth
xxxxxxxx ) and found that there are no current updates. This could be
because your application was submitted recently or the details that you
have provided above are incorrect.

If it is the former you may contact us at a later stage once our records
have been updated. We will be happy to give you the current status of your
application. If the information provided is incorrect then please provide
the 9-digit GWF number and the date of birth of the applicant.
Alternatively, once the process has been completed and a decision has been
made the visa application centre will be in contact as per process."

I've checked the details I sent in the email and these are correct but I've never seen anyone get this sort of email where there are no updates; has anyone else ever come across this? We applied via VFS Jalandhar. Just wondering whether I've contacted them too soon - it is 30 days today for us since the application was submitted.

Thanks

Thanks hey3guys and Amneet. The issue I have is that I've never had the under processing email. This is the only response I've had so I'm quite worried whether they've even received the application or not. I queried their response again but got exactly the same email again signed off by a different person. That almost suggests that it's just a system generated email. Their response has made me think the worst scenarios ever like have they lost our file, has anyone even looked at it at all? I just don't know at all. I suppose if I had got an email saying its under process that would have been more reassuring than this one.

Does anyone know how the system work? Do the bhc teams in India send this response or ukvi team in the UK? I'm assuming it's from the UK and there is most likely to be a break in communication but can't be sure as this is all very new (and stressful) for us!

Thanks

I'm not entirely sure how to do that. I think I'm going to hold out another week then contact them again to see if anything has changed. Seems like people who applied before me via the same vfs office are also waiting so it's reassuring to know in a way that we're not alone.

Dear PariJ,

Hope you are well.

I am wondering whether you have any update on the application status. Latest visa application processing times for Mumbai BHC are stated as http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/India/pdf/In ... 040615.pdf for the last weekend.

Raju

HI PariJ,

Previously u have applied in Chennai and now in Mumbai. Isn't it limited to particular states need to go to the embassy closer to them. Like Southern states go to Chennai?

But it's really weird they haven't processed your application till now. Have you raised a question with them again.

Don't give up hope Amneet. We're in the same boat so we will get a decision soon. There's always light at the end of the tunnel. We've stopped counting the days and just going by the 60 day SLA that they have in place. That way we will be less likely to feel so anxious looking at those who have been lucky to get a decision sooner.
