I have called 03001232253 and then i selected the option where it says application submitted within the last months, after that i have selected application taken more than 6 months, and after that customer advisor picked up the phone. I have told him that i havent received any acknowledgement letter or biometric letter but fees been charged on 15th may. He said that usually it takes max 14 days to receive the letter but asked me to wait till next thursday and call them back if i dont receive anything.
I have explained him that i had a bad experience few years ago when the acknowledgement + biometric was sent to an old address which is why i am chasing them. He was very nice and very helpful, however i have to wait till next thursday

WHen home office sends the acknowledgement and biometric letter, will it be posted in my son's name or will it be send in the legal guardian's name?

Just got off the phone with Home Office: 03001232253, the guy on the other end was quite helpful, took my name and mobile number and on hearing the date the fees were deducted, said it was quite strange that I have not received the acknowldgement yet, said the biometric letter might take some time to come. However my family had to travel back home urgently and as i had foreign passports for my kids, they were able to travel.

They are due to come back towards end of July and if i still don't hear anything regarding their registration as a British Citizens, what options do i have. I have already tried to contact HO and they have not been very helpful regarding this and unless i receive their certificates , i cannot apply for British passports either. They don't have depended visa as they were borne in UK and didn't require one. Me and my wife got our indefinite leave in the beginning of April.

I would appreciate if someone could advise based on past experience or knowledge.

Its a tricky situation you have. If your kids need to enter UK, They will be considered as the citizens of the country they hold the passports presently, even though they were born here. So they need to take ILR before they arrive. If you receive their British Citizenship approval, then the option would be to apply for a UK passport so they can come in without any problems. But two things here -

1. If you apply for a passport in UK, You cannot courier them to the country which they are living in presently. Its against the law to post passports.

2. You may apply for a British Passport with the nearest British High Commission in the country they are presently living in after you get their citizenship approval.

You need to confirm this with Home Office on the above before taking any decision.
