Short Term Travel vignette and 30 days travel requirement

What is the time duration validity of the Short Term Travel vignette sticker (temporary Visa) of 30 days.? Is it valid for 30 days from the date of stamping or 30 days from the stated travel date on the Visa application?

Please advise as I am planning to apply for Tier 2 Visa from Saudi Arabia and want my family to travel and spend 45 days in Pakistan before travelling to UK. Is it possible?

Appreciate your response that what is the validity of the Short Term Travel Vignette? Is the 30 day period counted from the stated Travel Date or the date of Visa stamping?

30 days from the start date mentioned in the visa, which is usually the planned travel date you would have mentioned in the application.

Thanks Moonlight, does it mean that I can get the Visa stamped on 10 July here with validity from 22 August (my intended Travel date) to its 30 day validity ending 21 September 2015?

I've not gone through the 30-day visa route since this has started recently. However, if you need someone who has gone through it, please search the forum. There are quite a few posts related to this.

It says, the visa starts from the intended date of travel and stays valid for 30 days.
