Realistically, I am expecting a reply late August early September. And I applied on 8th of May.

From the minute the caseworker starts dealing with an application, it shouldn't take them longer than a week. All personal info about applicants is a phone call away or it can be obtained online.

I agree with you, but that also assumes that each case is easy to review and decide; and knowing the kind of volumes they get through on a monthly basis - that will certainly not be the case. God knows how much information they have to chase up from people, how many documents people forget to send, etc. etc. that just snowballs into the process being delayed for everyone.

Plus, take into account workforce and holidays, sickness, etc.

The same pattern (delayed April-June applications) held last year too. The reason was that staff was moved to help with the spike in the passport applications during the summer season. Perhaps this is a seasonal issue.

Not true. Quite a few March applications got approval recently.

Hi All,

I am applying for Citizenship next month. I am planning to submit my degree certificates to demonstrate my knowledge in English.
My degree certificates has my name as “First Name + Initial(First letter of surname”).
Can you please let me know whether this is okay or should I have to submit any additional document?

Just looked at June application forums; unbelievable that people who have applied around 10th to 12th June have already done their biometrics and mid May applicants like me hasn't got the biometrics letter yet. Bravo Home Office!!!

Go to a Post Office that offers the service, take £19.80 and smile at the camera, take your ten fingers, and sign your name...within 15 working days from the date on the letter.

I sent an email to nationalitybiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk (thanks 'Tenacity' in the forum) on the 23rd of June. My assumption is that it got them started and they sent the mail out on the 24th. I suggest you write an email as well. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Who so ever has told you has either no clue of biometric rules or he wants you to suffer a loss of £1k. You can call them again and you will get a different answer. You can either read the rules available on the web or you can go to any post office doing biometric and see how many kids of 12 are queuing up there for the biometrics. Children below the age of 6 are exempted from biometrics because there finger prints are not developed. But still they have to go to post office for picture, and they have to be accompanied by a responsible adult who is being authorised by the home office. You must have filled a colum in the application where you must have mentioned the name of responsible adult going to accompany your child for the biometrics. Please see the link below
